Hey Curious Kids!

The awesome new 9.4 issue of Supernova has just arrived! This issue is all about focusing on what’s good in our lives and being thankful for the things we have. We are very grateful to be starting off the year by creating a great new issue of your favourite magazine!

What to look forward to

Get ready to join us as we travel to distant lands, build awesome crafts and solve the coolest challenges! We have some awesome stories to share with you about creative kids that are giving back to their communities and some extra creepy crawlies that live under the sea . . . And don’t forget to check out all of the new discoveries that were found in 2020! From new local spiders and distant planets, to frozen dragons and brand-new islands, you won’t want to miss out.

This issue is also jam-packed with amazing facts about your favourite African animals – baby style! You’ll learn all about how pangolin moms keep their pups safe, how much baby elephants weigh when they are born, and how tiny crocodiles get back to the water after hatching! All of these amazing occurrences in nature form part of the way adult animals look after their babies so that they can grow up big and strong. After that, put your DIY skills to the test and create your very own animal piñata, filled up with your favourite sweets!

Next, make sure to buckle up tight as we take you along on an Andy’s Atlas! We visit the Owl House in Nieu Bethesda, right here in our Eastern Cape! Then we pop over to the Kingdoms of Fire, Ice and Fairy Tales. This is where the the Yellowstone National Park, Black Forest and Abisko National Park are celebrated in their full glory. Don’t forget to check out the grizzly bear, reindeer and wild boars you can find there!

And more great stuff!

Vol 9.4 of Supernova also features immersive articles on how to become a product designer, and even some tips and tricks on how to train your dog. You’ll read all about new ground-breaking technology that allows us to grow our food from stem cells and how this can change things for our planet! Then, you’ll have to ask yourself the question: would you eat a hamburger grown in a lab? And if you’re looking for an article that blows your hair back, why not check out some of the fastest things on Earth? At the end of the day, you can have an interesting interview with your everyday bud, the toothbrush, and discover which of your friends would want to live on Mars.

And last but not least, get ready to pick your brain with even more curious Brain Games! This time, our fearless explorer needs your help with some tricky ‘spot the difference’ sign posts, and you’ll need to help her navigate out of a never-ending maze!

With so many awesome articles and activities to choose from, we wonder where you’ll start! One thing is for certain . . . you’ll never run out of fun!
